ABOUT US

Project Nitrous aims at using assistive technology and digital fabrication technology to address the unique day-to-day needs of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in Egypt. Nitrous is a joint initiative between Giza Systems Education Foundation and supported by Drosos Foundation. 
Under the slogan “Innovation that changes lives,” the project aims to utilize assistive and digital technologies to enable the disabled by creating assistive devices and empowering them to revolutionize the products they use to make them highly customizable to suit their individual needs.

Since the launch of Project Nitrous in 2018, we have had different success stories and this has become one of our motivations! On the 14th of November, our panelist and community members Ahmed Sabry, Tarek Salem, and Eslam Noaman will speak about their journey and their success stories with our host Omar Hegazy! I draw on 6 years of experience as Wheelchair user motivation speaker and entrepreneur Training I made training for 2000+ employees for 20+ multinational and governmental companies on DET Disability Equality Training and Disability ethics to change their perspective about PWD and how important is to make the inclusion Assistive Technology Made 15+ assistive tools and Smart home with special Scenes that you can control your whole house by smart phones, voice command and eye tracker to Help PWD to be self-independent Islam Ahmed Noaman Fourth year student, Department of Physics, College of Science I attended many trainings in research centers Analogous to the model of the British Parliament by the Fadlia Debating Club He loves scientific research, playing domino and playing PlayStation. He wastes a lot of singles in order to achieve a world joule He does not know giving up in light of his belief in the ability to achieve Islam joined Nitrous in 2018 and participated in the Nitrous competition twice, 2019 and 2020. He won first place in the competition in 2020. Ahmed Sabry Ahmed Sabry and the Nitrous team helped create tools for himself and others by learning design thinking and digital fabrication technology. From being partially blind to being completely blind by the end of his school years, Sabry was able to take control of his life once again and aim for a lofty goal, in addition to the knowledge of his income. Sabry now teaches young students in a class of the blind and has become one of the lead inventors of the Nitrous educational toolkit. He is now a member of the Nitrous team and his inventions have won the Nitrous competition grant. Sabri worked with the team to seek feedback and add new ideas to the educational toolkit for visually impaired students.
